Description
Through their simplicity, these small bowls made of fine red clay with a milky white glaze are particularly striking. Each bowl reveals its own delicate patterns through the glaze. The sensual texture of the glaze on the fine clay offers a tactile experience. These bowls can be beautifully combined with the larger bowl as a set.
Isegahama Toubou – Tomokiyo Kunio
In the early 1980s, Tomokiyo Kunio established his workshop in Hyuga, on the southern island of Kyushu. Shaped by the sea and nature, his functional ceramics have a distinctly rugged character. His time in Mashiko and Kasama—both renowned pottery centres for glazed ceramics—can be seen in his skilful use of a wide range of glazes.
